The
Doose Syndrome Epilepsy Alliance
is a volunteer-based worldwide nonprofit (501c3) organization
founded by parents of children with Doose Syndrome.
DooseSyndrome.org
OUR MISSION: The Doose Syndrome Epilepsy
Alliance is dedicated
to creating a better understanding of Doose Syndrome,
otherwise known as Myoclonic Astatic Epilepsy,
through the collaboration of health care professionals and
families across the world.
It aims to provide a platform through which information,
research and resources can be shared.
Myoclonic-Astatic Epilepsy (MAE), or Doose Syndrome,
is an epilepsy syndrome of early childhood that is often
resistant to medication.
For this reason, it can be difficult to treat.
MAE is an idiopathic generalized epilepsy,
(idiopathic) meaning that there is no known cause for the seizures
and (generalized) meaning the seizures occur all over the brain .
The DSEA was founded in 2011 to help fund research
to find a cure for this catastrophic epilepsy syndrome,
as well as make financial grants to needy families.
Families with Doose Syndrome all around the world thank you
from the bottom of their hearts for your support.
With your help we will make a difference!
